Born in 1956 at Palarassery, Chengamanad in Ernakulam District.Schooling at Government L.P School Kuttikattukara, G.U.PS Kalamassery and G.H.S Changamanad. Has a Bachelor's degree from KeralaUniversity and degree in law from Mysore University.

Enrolled as an Advocate on 13.03.1982 and practised at Ernakulam for 5 years. Appointed as Munsiff at Ottappalam in July 1988 and promoted to Sub judge in October 1992. Worked as Sub Judge at Thrissur, Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, and Alappuzha. Also served as Presiding Officer in Labour Court at Kollam.

Promoted as Additional District & Sessions Judge in February 2002. Served as District & session Judge at Kottayam, Thrissur and Palakkad from February 2002 to May 2011. Worked as Enquiry Commissioner & Special judge at Thiruvananthapuram from May 2011 to Aug 2012 and District & Session Judge at Manjeri from May 2012 to January 20L4. Appointed as Registrar (Vigilance), High Court of Kerala on 4.02,2014 and retired as Registrar(Vigilance) on 30.06.2016.

Assumed charge as Chairman of the Commission for Minorities, Kerala on 05.10.2016
