Government of Kerala have constituted Kerala State Commission for Minorities through the Kerala State Commission for Minorities Ordinance, 2013, promulgated by Governor of Kerala. Under Section 3 of the ordinance, Government appointed Chairman Members and one Member Secretary/Chief Executive officer. Kerala State Minorities Act 2014, came into force on 15th May 2013. The Commission was constituted for the comprehensive educational advancement, welfare, protection & empowerment of Minorities in the state.

The Commission consists of a Chairman and two members. Tenure of Chairman & members is three years from the date on which he/she assumes office.

The Commission is supported by a Member Secretary, a Registrar, a Finance Officer, a Section Officer, two assistants, two LDC/Junior Assistants, one PA and two OA cum Driver.

Announcements

  • The Commission is conducting Studies on "Backwardness of Christian Minorities in Kerala" and on "Educational Backwardness of Muslim Girls in Kerala". Public can offer their suggestions by person or through email kscminorities@gmail.com.
