Government of Kerala have constituted Kerala State Commission for Minorities through the Kerala State Commission for Minorities Ordinance, 2013, promulgated by Governor of Kerala. Under Section 3 of the ordinance, Government appointed Chairman Members and one Member Secretary/Chief Executive officer. Kerala State Minorities Act 2014, came into force on 15th May 2013. The Commission was constituted for the comprehensive educational advancement, welfare, protection & empowerment of Minorities in the state.

The Commission consists of a Chairman and two members. Tenure of Chairman & members is three years from the date on which he/she assumes office.

The Commission is supported by a Member Secretary, a Registrar, a Finance Officer, a Section Officer, two assistants, two LDC/Junior Assistants, one PA and two OA cum Driver.
